Covent Garden Casual.

I'd like to start off by saying sorry for the sudden disappearance! Ever since returning from Egypt it's just been work, work, work. I've come up with a schedule that I hopefully stick to so that I can blog more consistently.

Anyway, I must say I'm definitely one of those people that love Autumn, even more so now that I'm back from Egypt. Going from 40 degrees celsius to the mid teens is refreshing to say the least. This weekend's weather was perfect and I thought I'd wear this knitted midi dress, something new to my wardrobe. Pairing it with denim and trainers worked really well and it's an easy piece to dress up or down. In hindsight I should've worn a different bag but hey, it matched my lipstick :p.

Airport Attire.

I rarely wear colour nowadays (insert cliché things bloggers say) but going on holiday is the perfect time to bring out the colours because let's face it you can't wear black in soaring temperatures. Most of the posts featured from my holiday are somewhat colourful but I typically gravitate towards white, grey and black which this outfit is.

Going back to London I wanted to wear something comfortable without looking like a complete slob. Maxi coats have away of giving an understated elegance to pretty much everything, so if you're having a lazy day or have no idea what to wear, I definitely suggest reaching for a maxi coat.

Back to Black (& White)

As the count down begins to go back to London I see myself slowly regressing back to my usual black and white attire. Brace yourself to see less colour and more monochrome.

On another note, why don't I own more of these harem style trousers?! It feels like I'm wearing pyjamas but in a stylish way hah.

Sunhat Shade.

We made a trip to Cairo from Sharm El Sheikh, knowing that we'd be out all day I wanted an outfit that was breezy but at the same time protected me from the sun. I chose a maxi dress and a loose fitting white shirt which can be thrown over anything.

Moving onto the star of the show, the sunhat! This is a bit snug, most likely because of my hair. I usually find it hard to find hats that fit due to my small head but ASOS have some styles that come in varied sizes as well as one size. So if you're looking for a hat and struggle to find a good fit, I'd definitely recommend ASOS.

The Statement Sandals.

I have a new found love for the colour khaki. It's the perfect transitional colour that takes you from summer to autumn/winter seasons. This top is actually long and falls just above the knee but I tucked in the bottom half. Just like that I have a different top and you'd never know, well now you do but shh it's our secret.

I've wanted these sandals for ages but every time I went to get them they were sold out in my size. I finally have them and they are oh so pretty!

Colour Me Coral.

A long shirt is a versatile piece that can be worn all year round. Open as a shirt, buttoned up as a shirt dress, layered under and over different pieces, there are endless ways to wear something like this. I'm wearing a bright coral one, something I wouldn't usually choose but it adds a bit of colour to an otherwise all black outfit.DSC02551DSC02544DSC02367DSC02596

Moving in Monochrome.

I love flowy chiffon tops, they're probably my favourite kind of top. You can't go wrong with them. On this occasion I styled it with a black textured pencil skirt, but they can be worn with jeans, on top of dresses, trousers.. you name it. And of course the important part, they hide the pop belly that forms after eating a little too much.. or is that just me haha?DSC01773DSC01797DSC01740DSC01728DSC01779

Summer Staples.

Today we chilled at the beach but before doing so we went for a walk around the hotel. Whilst wandering we didn’t realise how big it actually is. There is a side dedicated to water slides and a mini water park for children, if I wasn’t an adult I would happily played in there ha. Today I wore something simple, as usual. A printed top by the label Cooperative found in Urban Outfitters, shorts are Levi's found in the men's section for just £12! Shorts are so short nowadays and I really don't need my bum hanging out, so menswear is perfect for more coverage. Sunglasses are also from Urban Outfitters on sale £8.

Bold in Blue.

Styling a maxi skirt to take you from day to night can be easy if you have the right accessories to hand and the material of your chosen top can make a huge difference. From a white tee (a basic everyone needs, excuse the cliché) to a chiffon blouse, this outfit is my go to whether I’m on holiday or in London (not that we get much of a summer but you have to whip out these outfits whenever you can!)

And now we switch from night to day or night if you want a casual evening look.

Another “basic” you need are classic barely there black strappy heels. These heels are a timeless piece that can be worn with anything and will give you an instant touch of chic. Adding a little black clutch would work for an evening look too, I just didn’t have one with me (I tried to pack light, notice I said tried haha). Switching from heels to flat sandals will add a relaxed feel to your outfit, but still looking put together of course :p

I hope you liked the way I style maxi skirts, I don’t usually wear patterns but when I do I keep the rest simple. Which one do you prefer?
