To Wear Or Not To Wear A Scarf?

I don't know about you but it doesn't feel as cold as it usually does for this time year and if I'm completely honest I miss the cold! Don't get me wrong I love the warmth but being stuck in between is not my cup of tea. My predictable question every morning is "to wear or not to wear a scarf?".

So as you can probably tell by this outfit last weekend there was a slight chill in the air, but I didn't have to reach for scarf *sighs*. This coat is perfect for those days. It's warm enough to wear on colder days but also not too hot for warmer days depending on what you're wearing underneath.

This season I seem to gravitating towards burgundy/maroon. It's such a fitting colour for Autumn and again as I always say adds a pop of colour to my neutral outfits. I also think this shade really compliments brown skin tones, which is probably why I always find myself reaching it. So of course I had to grab it using a 20% off voucher for New Look (YAY for discounts).

The slip on Nike's. I don't even need to say anything - a new addition to my collection of trainers and what beauties they are (a bargain found on Zalando).

Me Oh Mime.

First and foremost I soon realised I look like a mime artist when putting this outfit together (I even had braces on then took them off) but Halloween is fast approaching and that makes it okay right?

I love wearing monochrome outfits and adding red as a pop of colour. They go so well together and I couldn't resist (despite the mime appearance). These Nike trainers are probably the lightest pair I own! They're so comfy and go with everything seen as I rarely wear coloured clothes. So if you want to add something extra to an outfit with neutral tones, don't be scared to reach for colourful accessories. Even playing around with make up is fun too!

Pinstripes In The Park.

Happy Thursday everyone! We are one day away from the weekend :D. I went to see Kwabs, Zak Abel and Dornik last weekend and it was amazing! I have a new found appreciation for supporting act Zak Abel. I've heard his music before but there is something about live music that makes music sound even better, so much so that I am thinking of featuring some music segments on the artists I see live here on my blog.

So as you can imagine, I wanted to wear something comfortable so I went for a casual look. If feet could cry, they would if I wore heels! I don't usually shop in COS because it is quite a pricey store, but when items are on sale it's GREAT. Their clothes are made of such high quality and are unique, as you see by the shirt I'm wearing. It is a classic blue and white pinstripe shirt with a twist as there is a split in the back, paired with white trainers and blue denim you can't go wrong!

The Sky Garden.

Last weekend I went to the Sky Gardens (I think I've been about 3 or 4 times now) and every time I've gone it's been cloudy! That's typical British weather for you. All weather aside, the Sky Gardens is definitely something you have to visit at least once (maybe more if it's always cloudy, sorry no more weather talk I promise). I wore heels in a cobalt blue which is one of my favourite shades of blue as it adds such a nice pop of colour to an otherwise all monochrome outfit.

As we were inside I didn't have to dress too warmly but it did give me a chance to showcase my new leather jacket. I've wanted a good quality leather jacket for a while now but I couldn't find the right fit or it was too pricey. I came across this one in Topshop and it's perfect! I usually find that sleeves are always too long to for me, no matter what shop I go but these were just right. From the fit to the details like hardware, this jacket ticks all the boxes. So if you're on the hunt for a biker jacket, I'd definitely recommend Topshop!

Batwoman

Cardigan season is upon us - well it was a cardigan type of day as I got away with wearing no jacket! The weekend was filled with sunshine and I went with a very casual outfit to run around doing errands for the day. Batwing cardigans, jackets, tops, just batwing everything is so easy throw on and add something extra to an otherwise mediocre outfit. I must admit depending on what type of handbag you're wearing the "wings" can get in the way, but wearing a long strapped bag will do just the trick. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this more casual side of me!

Another Sleeveless Jacket.

Yet again I back with another sleeveless jacket. It is easily becoming a favourite transitional piece for the Autumn weather. Rust is a colour that is on trend at that moment (I don't usually follow trends, I just wear what I like) but it's such a nice colour that I had to incorporate it into my wardrobe.

Polo necks are also everywhere in store and I couldn't pass up buying this black one from Zara (and of course a whole bunch of other colours). Again another piece that can go under so many things, the combinations are endless.. no doubt I'll be showcasing more looks featuring these in the weeks to come.

Nailing Around.

This past weekend I went to Superdrug to buy some shampoo and as you do I ended up strolling through the clearance section. I have never seen one quite this big before! Usually it's filled with broken make up, opened boxes and so on, but this time it was nail polish galore. I've been a self confessed nail addict since 2011 but nevertheless I limited myself to one (yep, just one) bottle of nail polish. This beauty was only £1 and it's such a pretty neutral shade of lilac.

Maxi & Midi.

Meet my new best friends Maxi & Midi. As I've mentioned before maxi pieces are so flattering and add a little something something to any look. However midi items are new to me and I love them! I'm 5"4 so midi length things do come up more maxi on my short frame but the fit of this particular dress falls perfectly which has led the hunt for skirts that are similar!
