Sequins & Sunshine

Hello readers, here's a simple (but bright) outfit for the hotter days we're having here in London. Culottes are your friend in the heat ladies. Light and airy, in other words ventilated.. Need I say more?

Jumpsuit Modesty

Hello everyone, hope you're weekend is going well! I've been loving jumpsuits lately, especially light, airy ones like this. They are hard to come by, so I was pleased when I saw this one in the Zara sale for £9.99, yes £9.99! It was pretty long so I had to get the hem taken up but other than the fit is nice and loose. I paired with this a flute, lace sleeved blouse and heels for a touch of femininity. It would definitely look great with trainers and a plain tee underneath too, which is more my go to style.

Just Another Blogger | LDN

Oh hello from a bright, sunny office in London, where everyone is all smiles with their shades on. And let's not forget it's Friday, another huge reason to smile! After a 3 month hiatus, I'm back (hopefully for good). For lack of creativity, not having someone to help me shoot, among other things blogging was starting to feel monotonous and uninspiring.

I have been blogging for about a year now (not seriously by any means) nonetheless as someone who has followed blogs and YouTube channels religiously since 2008-2009 it's safe to say what was once a hobby for many women (and men) has now become a thriving industry.

Without getting into too big of a rant, the whole reason why I started I blogging is because despite the number of people doing it, everything has become so clone-like. Being a woman of colour, it's incredibly hard to find representation, from mainstream media to the blogging hemisphere alike. I'm a proud Mauritian, born in London and Muslim, so I do dress quite modestly and wanting to dress this way even more so lately.

So when I mentioned earlier that this felt monotonous, it's hard not to question myself when the industry has become overpopulated so to speak. Why am I doing this? Is anyone even reading my blog? How can I stand out and be different? How can I post regularly? I don't even know how to use a camera properly, edit photos etc. From aesthetics to the perfect blurry, bokeh background, the questions/issues are endless.

I could talk about this subject all day, but let's not dwell on that. I don't want things to impede on my growth as a blogger so I've had to give myself a pep-talk, I want to be that person that any woman can go to and find relatable in some way shape or form. Whether it's the shade of my skin, curly hair, or my love trainers, I hope I can encourage someone to be comfortable in their own skin. There are so many "rules" in society that dictate how you should look, we should be teaching young women embrace yourself for who you are and beauty will follow naturally. So here's to working hard to achieve that and more, because after all we all have to start somewhere..

There isn't much to about my outfit, except that I am still loving pink, and these NMD's are a perfect touch to dress this look down.
